Parenting Support

LC2 schools are committed to working in partnership with parents to ensure the best outcomes for young people.  Support offered to parents includes:

  • information sessions for all parents at key transition points in their children's lives, particularly as they move from lower to middle school.
  • parenting groups and programmes
  • family learning sessions
  • specialised support for parents who might need it, for example, parents whose children have problems with attendance or behaviour at school, and
  • information on the advice and support available to parents – through national helplines and websites, and the local family support service

LC2 Parenting Support Assistants (PSAs)
Parents can receive support and advice from our Parenting Support Assistants. They offer 1:1 parenting support over 8/10 weeks, referrals to other agencies, group courses to include: Parenting Puzzle, Being Assertive, Parents Apart, Fives to Fifteens Parenting programme, One Stop Parent Shop and Growing Pains (these will be offered at various times throughout the school term and can, in some cases, be delivered to individuals rather than groups).  For more information or to arrange a meeting please call Anita Cooke on 07545 707826 or Jemma Kirby on 07545 707827.
